A small percentage of gays and lesbians are transgender which is having gender identities that are different from their anatomic sex. Kinsey and his colleagues found evidence of a continuum of sexual orientation among the people they surveyed, with bisexuality representing a midpoint between exclusively heterosexual and homosexual orientations.
