Various forms of sexual expression do not require a partner. One example of a personal sexual experience is masturbation (direct stimulation of ones genitals). Thinking about sex or having sexual fantasies is another form of self-sexual expression which may be accompanied by masturbation. Sexual fantasy: mental imagery that"s sexually arousing or erotic. They can occur because an individual wants them to, or they can happen spontaneously without conscious effort. Sexual fantasies can be experienced as positively, negatively, or both. Most people find sexual fantasies normal, but there are still a handful that find themselves guilty after having one. Studies conclude men think about sex more often than women. Men more likely enjoy impersonal anonymous sexual fantasies, whereas, women more likely enjoy romantic sexual fantasies. Common fantasies for college-aged women are about their significant other. Married women tended to fantasized about other men. It is found that when women enter long- term relationships they fantasize about other men.
