Vision helps promote manual skills such as pointing and grasping. Differentiated hearing: ability to simultaneously hear one"s own voice and listen to other specific sounds. Respond to name and understand a few single words. Fifth set of taste buds receptive to umami-monosodium glutamate. Facial expressions a good indicator of if they like the food. Sense of touch and smell are important in the bonding process. Less likely to put things in mouth for discovery. Object permanence demonstrates the capacity for early symbolic thought.
