Advertising is any paid form of non-personal communication about an organization, a product, a service or an idea by an identified person. Product advertisements focus on selling a good or service. There are three different types of product advertisements: Pioneering (informational) used in the introductory stages of the product life cycle, this advertisement provides general information of the product to the public. This information includes what the product is, what it can do and where it can be found. Competitive (persuasive) an advertisement that is made to make one brand look more appealing than that of its competitors. Comparative advertising is a common form of this advertisement and shows one brand"s strength relative to those of the competitors. Reminder an advertisement that reinforces previous knowledge of a product. Useful for products that have achieved a well-recognized position in the mature phase of the product life cycle.
