Everyone in the world of classical music and almost everyone else in the western world considered this premiere the most important artistic event of the age. His music for many strikes the perfect balance between music and drama, art, emotion, poetry and action. He regarded the ring as not an opera but rather a drama. The difference involves a recalibration between words and music with great attention to detail. Type that are often those that are made fun of. They involve women wearing horned helmets, warriors brandishing long spears, tenors who sing really loudly and a performance that lasts 4-5 hours. His idea was that there are basic human passions hidden inside each of us and that the music is the best way to turn these emotions into gripping art. Many feel that he pulls of this transformation better than any other composer.
