Definition of scientific method; way of learning about the world by collecting observations, developing theories, and making predictions (interaction between hypothesis and testing) Pseudoscience; an idea that is presented as a science but does not actually utilize basic principles of scientific thinking or procedure. Theory; explanation for a broad range of observations that also generates new hypothesis and integrates findings into a coherent whole. Not the same as opinions or beliefs and not all theories are equally plausible or belong to one person alone. Biophysical model; a means of explaining behaviour as a product of biological (body structure/brain, chemicals, hormones), psychological (memory, emotions, personality) and sociocultural factors (family, peer, culture): building scientific literacy and its model. Scientific literacy; the ability to understand, analyse and apply scientific information.
