Frequency distribution: a method of summarizing a set of scores by showing how many participants received each score y the frequency distribution tells us at a glance about certain characteristics of the data. Measures of central tendency y frequency distributions and histograms give us a general picture of how scores are distributed. Measures of central tendency: a distribution in terms of a single statistic that is in some way typical of the sample as a whole. Median: the point that divides the distribution in half when ordered from lowest o highest. Measures of varaiblity: provide information about the spread of scores in a distribution. Range: the difference between the highest and the lowest score in distribution. Standard deviation (sd): the square root of the variance.
