People are very likely to both recall and recognize later that the theme word was presented: example: presented bed, rest, wake, dream, ired , etc. , tend to falsely recall or recognize sleep . Tend to remember info that its even though it wasn"t actually experienced. Same results obtained even when paricipants are informed about the efect. These memory errors are automaic and cannot be inhibited. Number of prior tests (retreivals) increases both the number of correct and incorrect recalls of word lists: repeated tests can produce false memories. Schema: summarizes the broad pater of what"s normal in a situaion. Helps to ill gaps in recollecion of memories.
