Social and educational programs and policies of governments affect their lives: these contexts influence the development of behaviours, beliefs, knowledge by providing resources, supports, incentives, and punishments. Expectations, teachers, models and tools are all the building blocks of learning and development: contexts affect how actions are interpreted. Inside the microsystem are the person"s immediate relationships and activities. For a child, it might be the immediate family, friends, or teachers and the activities at school. Relationships in the microsystem are reciprocal ~ they flow in both directions. The child affects the parent, and the parent influences the child: the mesosystem is the set of interactions and relationships among all elements of the microsystem the family members interacting with each other or with the teacher. She classified 4 parenting styles which were based on levels of warmth and control: authoritative parents: are high in warmth but they exert firm control.
