He explained that differences in the terms of social integrations: Categories of people with strong ties had low suicide rates, and more individualistic categories of people had high suicide rates. Men had much more freedom than woman but freedom weaken social tires which increases the risk of suicide. Likewise, more individualistic protestants were more likely to commit suicide than the traditional catholic and jews who encourage stronger social ties.
