The thing we need as human beings is to feel accepted: sociologists see personal choice in social context - society holds the power to change/ shape even our most private thoughts. Sociology became discipline when industrial economy occurred - the growth of cities pushed people away from working the land - before that there was not a lot of diversity. Feminism and the gender con ict theory: point of view that focuses on inequality and con ict between women and men, closely linked to feminism, women are important to the development of society. The race con ict approach: point view that focuses on inequality and con ict between people of different racial and ethnic categories, people of colour important to the development of sociology.
