So what occurs during their lives that makes them either engage in crime or stop engaging. Trajectory: your goal in life and where you are headed. Transition: signi cant life events; can be both positive and negative. Example: your life goal can be to become a teacher or to become a mother; transitions would be things like pregnancy or being arrested or being released from prison. Your shifts from roles can either increase or decrease your social bonds and thus, control you to conformity or deviancy. Try to understand why women and girls engage in crime. Try to understand why certain factors associated with being a women can lead one to crime. Understand the di erence between male and female crime.
