Sensory and perceptual processes are the means by which people receive, select, modify and organize stimulation from the world. Perceptual processes are closely linked to motor skills : coordinated movements of the muscles and limbs. They are the 1st step in the complex series of events that eventually results in knowing. Humans have diff kinds of sense organs : result. The retina at the back of the eye is sensitive to some types of electromagnetic energy and so, sight is the eardrum detects changes in air pressure and hearing is the result. Cells at the top of the nasal passage detect airborne molecules and smell is the result. This shows that the baby distinguishes between the tastes. Sense organs translates the physical stimulation into nerve impulses that are sent to the brain. The researchers present two diff ways and record the baby"s responses (presenting a sweet food and a sour food) Infants usually prefer novel stimuli to unfamiliar stimuli.
