Document Summary
Generally, behaviour is anything that a person says or does. Technically, behaviour is any muscular, glandular or electrical activity of an organism. Three synonyms for behaviour that are commonly used are action , activity and performance . Characteristics of behaviour that can be measured are called dimensions of behaviour. One dimension of behaviour is the duration, or how long the behaviour lasts. An example of duration would be julia ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes with 30 minutes being the duration. A second dimension of behaviour is the frequency, or how many times the behaviour is performed within a specific time frame. An example of frequency would be james swam 10 laps in 5 minutes with 10 laps being the frequency. A behavioural deficit is too little of a behaviour type. Examples of this are: not exercising enough to maintain health, and not spending enough time studying for a final exam.
