Landscape: area of land composed of different ecosystems. Biomes: landscape dominated by a similar ecosystem. Biosphere: interface that contains and supports life. Hydrosphere: water at or near earth"s surface. Behavioural ecology: explores factors affecting species distribution. Population ecology: shifts to a population size and how it changes over time. Ecosystem ecology: ecosystem structure and function ( ow of energy) Landscape ecology: factors in uencing spatial extent and arrangement of ecosystems. Global ecology: exchange of energy and matter btw ecosystems and spheres.
