Level cost per kilowatt hour of electricity from renewable energy source is often considerably higher than for traditional fossil fuels and nuclear based electricity. These high costs are a result of poor economies of scale, financing challenges and other barriers. To incentivize investment and decentralize renewable energy systems the government introduce fit (feed-in-tariff) that provides a guaranteed minimum payment for installations sized up to 5 megawatts. The fit provides guaranteed long-term pricing making it easier for households and organizations to obtain financing and make long-term investment decisions for on-site renewable energy generation. Review for general understanding of the issues. Environmental reporting is no longer just voluntary it is becoming required. Can been seen as a simplified version of the companies interactions with the environment. Must contain: policy statement, environmental impacts, status and position of ems, detailed data on targets, links to sustainable development. Make motives/goals clear is one reason for doing this.
