Demography- the study of characteristics of human population. Census- count of the number of people in a country, region, or city, possibly also gathering additional information (such as residence, marital status, occupation, etc) Vital records- data source that reports births, deaths, marriages, divorces, infectious diseases (only for a limited number of people) Biometric census- individuals are photographed and fingerprinted to create a national database. Age-sex pyramid- horizontal bar graph that represents the population based on its composition according to age and sex. Cohorts- group of individuals that share a common temporal demographic experience.
