The theory that there are six basic personal orientations that determine the sorts of careers to which people are drawn. Realistic - doers (work with objects, animals, outdoors) Investigative - thinkers (observe, learn, analyze, solve problems) Artistic - creators with artistic innovative abilities (unstructured, imagination, creativity) Social - outgoing, interact with people, friendly, helpful. Enterprising - persuaders, influencing, leading group, managing projects. Conventional - data, numbers, tasks and detail, follow through on other people"s instructions, detail oriented, collect and organize things, balance to the artistic group.
