Interest group - an organization whose goals include in uencing the government. At least 200 000 interest groups are active in american politics today. Lobbyist - a person who contacts government of cials on behalf of a particular cause/issue on a regular basis. Lobbyists may be full time and paid by the group they represent. Primary link between government of cials and the people. They get groups of people to act politically to achieve their goals. Create issue campaigns through reports, television ads, media, social media posts. Public interest lobbyists - a representative of an organization that seeks to bene t the population at large, not a speci c client or a small collection of people.
