Document Summary
Regulate bankruptcy laws, print money and deal with counterfeit. Enact laws that have received presidential approval. Admit new states and control us territories. The president needs cooperation from congress to pass laws. Congresses are numbered consecutively (we are currently on the 114 congress) Legislative hold - an informal way for a senator to object to a bill or other measure reaching the senate oor. The action halts the senate proceedings until it is resolved. Libuster - rule unique to the senate that allows any senator to hold the oor inde nitely and delay a vote on a bill to which they object. Cannot interrupt a senator while they are speaking, so the senator just keeps talking. Ends when 60 senators vote for it to end. All budget manners must originate from the house. House can impeach public of cials for crimes and misdemeanours. Senate holds trial and decides to remove them or not.
