Cognitive development: piaget"s theory, case"s neo-piagetian theory, and vygotsky"s sociocultural. Cognition: the activity of knowing and the processes through which knowledge is acquired. cognitive development : the changes that occur in children"s mental abilities over the course of their lives. Genetic epistemology: the experiment study of the development of knowledge, developed by piaget, combined by zoology and epistemology. Genetics used in an older sense, meaning, essentially and developmental. Then developed clinical method- a flexible question-and-answer technique. The process of achieving it is called equilibration. Piaget"s view of intelligence is an interactionist model that implies that disequilibria between internal mental schemes (existing knowledge) and the external environment stimulate cognitive activity and intellectual growth. Children are constructivists- an individual who acts on novel objects and events to discover their properties, and thereby gains some understanding of reality depend on the knowledge they have available to them. How we gain knowledge: cognitive schemes and cognitive processes.
