In this chapter we address the issue of causation. We examine the specific components of a multidimensional integrative approach. Biological dimensions = causal factors from the fields of genetics and neuroscience. Psychological dimensions = causal factors from behaviour and cognitive processes, including learned helplessness, social learning, prepared learning, and even unconscious processes. One dimensional model says that psychological disorders have one single cause. However, most scientists believe that behaviour results from multiple influences. Independent inputs and different points but each input becomes a part of the whole, no longer independent. So biology and behaviour of the individual as well as the cognitive, emotional, social and cultural environment . Developmental critical period where we are more or less reactive to a given situation. Applied muscle tension is a behavioural technique that reduces vasovagal reactions by maintaining blood pressure. (used for blood and injury phobias).
