PSYCH261 Chapter Notes - Chapter 5: Pratibha Patil, Relational Aggression, Amygdala

29 views2 pages

Document Summary

Aggression is an emotional response and patterns of this emotion can be seen from an early age. The journal article that will be analyzed is called aggression during early years . The article lists eight causes that could contribute to a child"s aggressive behaviour. At first glance the references that were used were fairly old, one dating back to 1966 (reebye, 2005). However, even though the references are older the journal article contains an adequate amount of sources to help support their claims. It was interesting that the author wrote about females being involved more with relational aggression compared to boys who conduct more overt aggression but how both were equal in hostility (reebye, 2005). This was supported in the course textbook by stating that the level of exposure to androgens has an effect on aggressiveness and that boy"s testosterone levels increase at a higher rate during puberty than females (carlson, 2013).
