Second they test their theories about the world by researching and adapt the theories based on what the data is telling them. Fourth is when they go further once they receive their data they go on to do further research to test the why, how, when, or for whom an effect works. Fifth psychologists take their work public sending their journals for review and thus have to respond to the opinions of other scientists. This also has to do with sharing their findings with popular media. And journalist do not always get the story right. The theory data cycle scientists collect data to test, change, or update their theories. Cupboard theory states that babies only see their mother as a food source and that is why they cling to their mothers.
