It is how sociologists see our world in a unique way. The everyday choices that people make are influenced by social environment. He suggested that people who do not or cannot recognize their social origins may be unable to respond to situations effectively. This results in not fully understanding the things that are being presented in front of us. Personal troubles: personal challenges that require individual solutions. Social issues: challenges that are caused by larger social factors. An example is a midterm, it is considered a personal trouble and fail is a personal trouble but if a lot of people fail it becomes a social issue. According to mills, personal problems rarely become social issues because people never speak up in order to not embarrass oneself.
