Flat representation: agent chooses one level of abstraction and reasons in that level. If i know that paris is to my left, then i will keep walking left until i reach paris, where the mona lisa is. Modular: divide the task into a number of subtasks to be solved separately. I have to book tickets, get to the airport, exit the destination airport in paris, go to the louvre. I will do these tasks one by one. Hierarchal: solve the above subtasks in a hierarchal way until the task is reduced to simple tasks. In order for me to book the ticket, i must first find a ticket online. In order for me to find a ticket online, i have go to a travel website, like expedia.
