If working memory is what is within reach on your desk, long-term memory is what is stored in the file cabinet in the corner. Explicit memory is conscious memory for facts, figures, events, faces, etc. Episodic memory refers to episodes: so an episodic memory involves being able to actually see yourself in a past situation. Semantic memories are just the facts no visual imagery; no actual seeing yourself there.
