Cone-shaped (size of fist) - broad, flat base directed toward right shoulder; apex points inferiorly toward left hip. Coverings of the heart and layers of heart wall - 3 layers: pericardium (epicardium) double-walled fibro-serous sac; visceral layer of serous pericardium.
