Anatomical posiion = standard body posiion where the body is erect with feet slightly apart with the palms facing forward and the thumbs poining away from the body. Between: proximal vs. distal {closer vs. Farther} from the point of atachment of a limb to the body trunk: supericial/external vs. deep/internal {toward vs. away} from surface. Axial part = 1 of 2 body divisions which makes up the main axis of the body; includes the head/neck/trunk. Appendicular part = 1 of 2 body divisions which consists of the appendages (limbs) which are atached to the axis. Regional terms = terms used to designate speciic areas w/in these divisions (ex. cephalic, cervical, thoracic, abdominal, pelvic, pubic, upper limb, manus [hand], lower limb, pedal [foot], back [dorsal]) Sagital plane = verical plane that divides the body into right/let parts: median plane/midsagital plane = sagital plane exactly at the midline, parasagital planes = all other sagital planes.
