In this context, the impact of current mechanisms of the consumer society will be discussed pinpointing how advertisements influence issues in childhood, gender, politics, and democracy. Besides the historical overview of advertising, different types of advertisement messages and branding methods will be analyzed together with how advertising has formed and shaped the consumer society, and what ethical dilemmas arise from such an influence.
