Infertility is de ned as the inability to get pregnant after one year of unprotected sex. In vitro means in glass as opposed to in utero meaning in the uterus. They create the embryo and transport them to the woman uterus. Ovarian stimulation - woman takes fertility drugs to create more than one egg per month like the usual. Egg retrieval - these extra eggs are retrieved by an ultrasound guided needle. Insemination - the retrieved eggs are judged and the highest quality ones are mixed with sperm, typically some fertilize. Embryo culture- after fertilization the embryos grow in a culture, on day 3 they are genetically screened and those cleared are transferred to the uterus.
