Be sure that your paragraphs include a topic sentence. The topic sentence states the limited idea that each paragraph is expressing. The other sentences in the paragraph develop that limited idea by using examples or by specifying what the topic sentence means. Ask yourself what do i want to communicate to the reader in this paragraph? and write accordingly. Make sure that the material discussed in the paragraph relates to the topic sentence and to the overall argument of the paper. If your paragraphs stretch too much, it may be because the idea your are trying to express is actually several ideas.
