Document Summary
Humans have the ability to adapt and learn (and therefore teach) This is unique to us (i. e. salmon have genetic guide to destiny) Associative learning: (can be influenced by biology and cognition -- not realized by. Pavlov [garcia & koelling, and hundreds of other tests]) Classical conditioning -- begin to expect us after cs occurs; natural predisposition to stimuli and response. Operant conditioning -- can expect when something will be rewarded or punished; learn best what we already know how to do in similar aspects (will drift back to old habits) Classical conditioning (ivan pavlov) -- learning i. e. what hunger or pain is (anticipation) Learn to anticipate a reward/behaviour i. e. dogs salivating when seeing food; dogs salivating when hearing a bell that signifies food is coming. Bell = neutral stimulus > conditioned stimulus, food = unconditioned stimulus (naturally salivate) Objective behaviouralism -- basic laws of learning can be observed in behaviour (watson) >> pavlov demonstrated value-free learning.
