Proteins: cell"s product: folded up polypeptide chain, twisted into a helix. Exocytosis: proteins are exported through the cell membrane from the vesicles to the extracellular fluids. Channels: different sized pathways built by the membrane to allow for different sizes of molecules to pass through. Gates: regulates the passing of molecules by changing it"s shape in response to a trigger. Pump: exchanges molecules from either side to pass through the membrane. Genotype influences the physical and behavioural traits, which make up your phenotype. Chromosome pairs 1-22 are autosomes containing genetic information. Pair 23 are the sex chromosomes (xx-girl, xy-boy) All autosomes contain a matched pair, two copies of every gene, one from mother and one from father, 46 total. these are called alleles. alleles are not always identical (homozygous or heterozygous) Mutations: more unique sequence of alleles: dominant and recessive genes.
