Important concept: the brain"s primary function is to produce behaviour through receiving sensory info, integrating this info to create a sensory reality, and producing commands to control the movement of muscles. Another important concept is neuroplasticity, which is a component of phenotypic plasticity: neural tissue can adapt (change how functions are organized) by changing how its functions are organized, connections in neurons may change in response to experience. Cut vertically from crown of head down (cutting off face); reveals frontal view. Cut lengthwise from front to back of skull; a cut in the midsagittal plane divides brain into symmetrical halves; reveals medial view. If injury here, dif culty/inability to organize behaviour and plan for the future. If injury here, dif culty identifying or locating simulation on skin & dif culty locating objects to touch: wrist = occipital lobe . If injury here, can"t identify shape or colour of objects.
