------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Variation
- The difference that exist among people and populations
Polymorphism
- Is a genetic trait whereby there are at least two alleles each with frequencies greater than one
percent
Blood Type
- One common genetic measures in studies of human variation
- Example: ABO, MN
Antibodies
- Substances that react to foreign substances
Antigens
- Substances invading the body that stimulates the production of antibodies
Electrophoresis
- A laboratory method that uses electric current to separate proteins, allowing genotype to be
determined
Human Leukocyte Antigen System (HSL)
- A diverse genetic system consisting of linked loci on chromosome 6 that control autoimmune
response
