Reading #1: Mines and Lamb, “South Asia” The “South Asia” reading by Mines and Lamb was basically an introduction about the area. It gives a lot of background information on the South Asia area which great because one of the reasons (if not the biggest reason) was to improve my knowledge about the area. This introduction right here has already done that. First it starts off by clarifying exactly what countries are described as a part of South Asia to real help set up specially where the course will probably be looking at (Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka. And sometimes Afghanistan). The reading continues on giving background information on population and beings to discuss the general history of the area and how that history has contributed
