A retail strip is a group of various types of stores that are arranged together in a street that
usually has a sidewalk in front of it. These stores could be anything from services like banking,
food, grocers, health, spa, etc. They usually have parking areas in front or behind these malls for
easier access to people.
The issues that could occur with a retail strip are that the location may not necessarily be
a hub, that is, there is very little population. There could be little to no human interaction to the
specific area, which could reduce the outflow of the products or services. There could also be
another problem if there is a lot of competition in this area as the people could go to different and
bigger malls that might be close by.
If a strip is dense with population but has very little options to it (only a few stores), this
could also lead to problems nowadays, as people would much rather shop at a one-stop shop
(like Walmart).

The Streetsville retail strip on Queen Street, between Water Street and Maiden Lane has a
variety of stores in it. The main focus of this particular strip is on spas; whether it is nail care,
hair care, etc. There is a natural flow of people in this strip and there is a good amount of traffic
at almost all times. There are also transit systems that allow people to arrive at Streetsville in a
much easier method.

Most of the people that end up showing in this area are mainly Caucasian women who
mostly use the spas. The majority of people that had shown at the time of recording the data,
were mostly Caucasian in ethnicity (as shown in fig. 3). Most of the people come as families for
some time out in the day and just explore a lot of the shops to see what it offers. There seems to
be only one store (Cake Royale) that has a little bit more of a higher price level that could be
leaning more into the middle income families rather than the low income ones.
The downfall that could possibly be to this strip is that it is not a one-stop strip. There are
no grocery stores on this strip which can be problematic for some people as the people living
around this area would possibly wish to get to their destination faster.
The strip also has education systems like schools in it which is quite rare, but this could
be convenient to people living around in the neighborhood, whether it is to walk, use the transit
or drive themselves to the school. It also has restaurants and cafés which are low to medium in
price levels that could be better for the people who just want to stop by this area.
The pricing of the products and services focuses on more of the low to middle income
individuals and families. As the stores are closely knit, many of the customers tend to disperse
into various different stores and the focus on one specific store will be lessened in this way.
The strip is a quaint old town which is quite unusual to see in the country as it keeps
developing. It is a refresher to go through the entire strip and gives off a good impression onto
this little strip. The cleanliness of this strip is up to par and seems to always be quite clean. The
neighborhood is quite busy and might not be the best place to take children because they have to
be watched closely lest the traffic might hurt them physically.
