The south asia reading by mines and lamb was basically an introduction about the area. It gives a lot of background information on the south asia area which great because one of the reasons (if not the biggest reason) was to improve my knowledge about the area. This introduction right here has already done that. First it starts off by clarifying exactly what countries are described as a part of south. Asia to real help set up specially where the course will probably be looking at (pakistan, india, The reading continues on giving background information on population and beings to discuss the general history of the area and how that history has contributed so much (islam and british administrative practices for example). The reading then transitions to quickly discuss contemporary matters in the area. In summary of that section, contemporary global economic and cultural values continue to shape south asia.
