Using 2 minute clips that depict the south as impoverished, needy and helpless without giving background of the prior events. Being characterized this way gives power to the northern nations when they can use these portrayals as justification for iintervention in that countrys affairs: the south is a vital and active process of globalization. Africa brought these continents together in political and economic relationships. Colonialism as well did the same thing: does not mean the world is becoming uniform.
