The relation of evolution and culture to psychopathology: from the cultural perspective, current views of culture emphasize the social world in which a person lives. 70-80% of japanese carry it and only 40-45% of europeans: not only can environment influence genetics but genetics can influence the environment as well. Is psychopathology universal: mental illness is not a created concept by a given culture but rather part of the human condition in both its recognition and it prevalence. However, culture will play a role in how it is manifested in the larger community.
