An introduction to the scientific study of sexuality . Sexuality is influenced by the interaction of biological, psychological, social, economic, political, cultural, ethical, legal, historical, religious and spiritual factors. Sexism: prejudice or discrimination directed against one sex; usually women. His student nicholas hartsoeker believed the sperm contained pre-formed: freud: the unconscious mind was more broadly focused in its sexual desires than human being was the conscious mind. They also studied people with sexual problems and developed techniques to help them fix these problems. Did not agree with homosexuality; developed a treatment program to cure the illness. Study of sexuality crosses many levels of analysis: anatomists: details of the internal reproductive tracts; one who studies the structure of the body, psychology: study of mental processes and behavior. Social psychology: the study of our relationships to others. Script theory: analysis of sexual and other behaviors as the enactment of socially instilled roles.
