For girls, the essence of femininity is a series of expressive traits such as nurturance and sensitivity to others: society influences people"s gender roles, a girl is suppose to dress like this and act like this, blah blah. A critique of essentialism from the conflict and feminist perspectives. Aggressiveness is partly role related: women are developing traits that were traditionally considered masculine.
