Common sense: common sense is valuable in daily living, but it allows logical fallacies (misconceptions) to slip into general thinking, ie. : the so called gambler"s fallacy is, if i have a long string of losses playing a lottery, the next time i play my chances of winning will be better. Personal experience: although the idea of seeing is believing and experiencing events on a personal level/space is very strong, personal experiences can be distorted by judgement and slight error, the four errors of personal experience are, overgeneralization occurs when some evidence supports your belief, but you falsely assume that it also applies to many other situations. (*a person has a bad experience with drivers from a particular state/province thus that person assumes all driver s from that state/province are horrible drivers*, selective observation is the tendency to take notice of certain people or events based on past experience or attitudes.
