Solomon is made king instead of adonijah (with the help of his mom bathsheba) David tells solomon to take care of joab & shimei (kill/punish them for their deeds) Solomon asks baniah to kill joab & adonijah. The man who previously cursed and threw stones at shimei but whom david promised not to kill. Solomon gives him the option to live if he does not venture out of his house of course, if he transgresses he will die. Indeed, he transgresses and so he dies. Temple of god could not be built during david"s reign due to political unrest so solomon is in charge of building it. God"s grants solomon the gift of wisdom, riches & honour. Solomon is faithful until women make him worship other gods & build altars. Jeroboam is the king to reign over 10 tribes (northern kingdom) Solomon only gets 1 (judah southern kingdom) Solomon dies and his son rehoboam reigns in his stead.
