Conformity occurs because it is seen as right, not because it achieves rewards, avoids punishment, or pleases others internal factors rather than external. Socialization the process by which people learn the attitudes, knowledge, and behaviours that are necessary to function in a group or organization: primary means where orgs communicate their culture and values to new members. Learning in terms of content areas/domains of learning. Newcomers need to: acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their job duties and tasks, learn the appropriate behaviours and expectations of their role, learn the norms and values of their work group, learn about the organization.
