Document Summary

There are 3 types of arguments for the existence of god: cosmological arguments. Aquinas" first 3 arguments are cosmological; cosmological arguments take different forms, all citing a general feature of the universe as evidence that there is a god: design arguments, ontological argument (see chapter 8) Design arguments : aquinas" design argument (his fifth argument) Of objects that have a goal-directed system, some have a mind and some do not. An object that is goal-directed and doesn"t have a mind must have been designed by something that has a mind. Thus, there must a some being that creates all mindless objects that have goals. Teleological = used to describe things that follow a goal oriented system. There are 2 types of design arguments: global.
