Urban and regional governments have been amongst those leading the way in demonstraing the potenial for reducing ghg emissions and are increasingly engaging with the issues of adaptaion. The roles of ciies and subnaional governments have played in orchestraing the response to climate change over the past two decades. Argument 1 made in support of thesis (1-2 sentences) How and why urban and regional governments came to be at the forefront of responses to climate change, and the poliical geographies of this movement. Argument 2 made in support of thesis (1-2 sentences- not necessary for all readings) The nature of urban and regional responses to climate change, and also considers the tensions emerging between the rhetoric and reality of the possibiliies of addressing climate change.
