A convergence of stressors precede onset of gad: panic disorder. Marked by occasional episodes of sudden, very intense fear. Anxiety occurs in short segments, but much more severe than gad. Panic attacks = brief moments of extreme anxiety that include a rush of physical activity paired with frightening thoughts. Escalation goes one for less than 10 minutes after which individual will eventually return to a more relaxed state. Very strong fear of being judged by others or being embarrassed or humiliated in public.
