The wechsler adult intelligence scale (wais: wechsler develop iq test for adults, contains 2 parts: general ability index (gai) and cognitive. Raven"s progressive matrices: this is an intelligence test based on pictures, thus taking out any language and cultural biases. Iq testing and the eugenics movement: @ the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, 1) a person is aware of the stereotype and is worried about getting a low score. 2) causes the person to be more self-focused, thus paying more attention to how well they are performing and not really focusing on the test. 3) increases tendency for ppl to actively try and inhibit and ve thoughts which reduces the cognitive resources that could have been used to focus on the test.
